SmartBoard Not Projecting?
Press the Windows Button and the key P together to bring up the Projection Menu. Make sure that it says Duplicate!
Turn the Smart Board Off & On:
1. Flick the switch beside the AC power inlet to the OFF (O) position and wait 5 seconds
2. Flick the switch beside the AC power inlet to the ON (I) position.
Open the document and select File > Create a Copy > Download a Copy. This will download the file as a Microsoft Office document.
Open Google Drive and Go to Settings, scroll down to Uploads and turn on Convert uploads to Google Docs editor format. You only need to change this setting once.
Drag and drop the downloaded document into Google Drive. Once it finishes uploading, open the file. It will be converted into an editable Google Document.
Note: This will now work for many types of Office Files: Excel > Sheets, PowerPoint > Slides, and Word > Docs
1. Download and Open the Microsoft Outlook App. (Android and iOS)
If you already have the app, tap the home icon in the upper-left corner and Add Mailbox.
2. Select Add Email Account.
3. Enter your district email address (@cps.k12.ny.us) and tap Add Account.
4. Sign in and approve the request in Microsoft Authenticator, if prompted and you should be all set up!
Download Microsoft Authenticator from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
On a computer, sign in to Outlook or Microsoft 365 using your full Carle Place email address: username@cps.k12.ny.us and Enter your Carle Place password.
When prompted with More information required or Keep your account secure, select Next.
Open Microsoft Authenticator on your phone.
Select Add account or the plus sign (+).
Choose Work or school account and select Scan a QR code.
Scan the QR code displayed on your computer & select Next on the computer.
Approve the test notification on your phone. Enter the number shown on the computer if prompted.
Select Done or Finish. Repeat the process for your Google Account.
Important: If you have a new phone and cannot approve Microsoft Authenticator notifications, you must first contact the Technology Office by submitting a Technology Help Desk ticket.
The IT Office will reset your Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) registration. Once your account has been reset, return to this page and follow the steps below to set up Microsoft Authenticator on your new device.
Go to Google and Sign In
Open Your Account Settings: Click your profile circle in the top-right corner and select Manage your Google Account.
Go to Security & Sign In and Select Authenticator.
Download Microsoft Authenticator from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
On your computer, select Set up authenticator. A QR code will appear on the screen.
Open Authenticator app, and tap the + button. Select Scan a QR code and Enter Verification Code. Your authenticator app will now display a 6-digit code for your CPS Google account.
On your computer, click Next. Enter the 6-digit code from the authenticator app. Click Verify.

The CopyCenter is a district-wide printing service located in the MS/HS Building. The CopyCenter fills duplication requests from district and school staff for materials needed to run our operations.

Before submitting a ticket, try restarting the device, checking cables, signing out and back in, and confirming that you are connected to the correct Wi-Fi network. This will fix a strong majority of the issues you may be having.
